Shadow Catcher is a Material Function which helps you to catch and render shadows or making visuals based on shadows.
With Shadow Catcher you can easily get a shadow projected on plane or any other geometry with a special material. You can further render this plane using Movie Render Queue. Shadow Catcher supports Path Tracing. It provides full control over adjusting shadow. Rendered shadow edges can be blurred. Attention! Projection method that is used in this material function is based on scene capture projection, so the final look of the shadow is not representing the real shadow from Unreal light sources. The main purpose is to be able to achieve flexible visuals, and to create dynamic effect that can be driven in editor/game as well as in the sequencer.
